We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team The Proactive Threat team is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and security weaknesses across Stripe's systems, applications, networks, and cloud infrastructure — before adversaries do. We operate as a hybrid offensive function: conducting penetration testing, emulating real-world threat actors through red team operations, and partnering closely with our defensive security teams to validate detection capabilities and improve Stripe's overall security posture. We are builders first. Our team develops custom tooling, automation frameworks, and internal platforms that scale our offensive capabilities and enable repeatable, high-fidelity assessments. We believe the best offensive security engineers are equal parts hacker and engineer. The team is distributed across the United States, primarily operating in Eastern and Pacific time zones, and collaborates regularly with security, engineering, and product stakeholders across Stripe — including teams in Europe and Asia. What you'll do As an Offensive Security Engineer on the Proactive Threat team, you will simulate the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of real-world adversaries to uncover security risks across Stripe's products and infrastructure. You'll conduct hands-on penetration testing, lead red team engagements, and collaborate with blue team counterparts to validate and improve detection and response capabilities. Your work will directly influence how Stripe builds, ships, and secures financial infrastructure used by millions of businesses worldwide. Beyond assessments, you'll design and build offensive tooling and automation that amplifies the team's impact. You'll leverage threat intelligence to prioritize testing efforts, contribute to incident investigations when needed, and act as a subject-matter expert for security initiatives across the company. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive penetration tests across web applications, APIs, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), mobile applications, and internal infrastructure Plan and execute red team engagements that emulate the TTPs of cyber and criminal threat actors targeting financial services, including initial access, lateral movement, persistence, and data exfiltration scenarios Perform assumed-breach and objective-based assessments to test detection and response capabilities in coordination with defensive teams Partner with detection engineering, threat intelligence, and incident response teams to validate security controls, identify coverage gaps, and improve detection fidelity Contribute adversary tradecraft insights to inform detection rule development, threat hunting hypotheses, and incident response playbooks Support incident investigations by providing offensive expertise, log analysis, and root cause analysis when required Design, develop, and maintain custom offensive tools, scripts, and automation frameworks to enhance assessment efficiency and coverage Build internal platforms and workflows that enable scalable, repeatable offensive operations Contribute to internal security tooling repositories and champion engineering best practices within the team Automate repetitive testing tasks, payload generation, and reporting workflows using modern development practices Produce clear, actionable reports that communicate technical findings, business risk, and remediation guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Act as a subject-matter expert and primary point of contact for stakeholder teams engaged in offensive security programs and Stripe-wide security initiatives Lead offensive security projects end-to-end, mentor junior team members, and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques; share research internally and contribute to the broader security community Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum requirements 5+ years of experience in offensive security, penetration testing, red teaming, or a related field Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, with demonstrated experience building tools, automation, or custom exploits Deep knowledge of web application security, including OWASP Top 10, ASVS, and common vulnerability classes (injection, auth flaws, business logic, etc.) Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including cloud-native attack techniques and misconfigurations Proficiency with offensive tooling such as Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Mythic, Sliver, BloodHound, or similar frameworks Familiarity with adversary tradecraft and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, including TTPs for initial access, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and exfiltration Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, risk-based recommendations Ability to think like an adversary — creative, persistent, and able to holistically assess risk in complex environments Preferred qualifications Experience conducting offensive security in fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments Background in vulnerability research, exploit development, or CVE discovery Experience collaborating with threat intelligence, detection engineering, or incident response teams (purple team operations) Familiarity with big data and log analysis tools (Splunk, Databricks, PySpark, osquery, etc.) for threat hunting or investigative support Proficiency with AI/LLM-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and experience applying them to offensive security workflows Interest or experience in agentic automation — using LLMs or autonomous agents to augment reconnaissance, vulnerability discovery, or exploitation workflows Experience testing AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications for security weaknesses (prompt injection, training data extraction, model manipulation, etc.) Contributions to open-source security tools, published research, blog posts, or conference presentations Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, OSED, CRTO, CPTS, PNPT, GXPN, or cloud security certifications

If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. Senior ML Engineer Recommender Systems, Developer Advocacy | Canada | Remote This is a fully remote position and we're considering candidates in Canada. The Opportunity: Grafana Labs is building an Interactive Learning system, an open source, in-product learning experience that helps users learn and succeed without leaving Grafana. A central part of that vision is a personalized recommendation system that helps each user discover the next guide, action, or product experience most likely to help them succeed. Today, the Interactive Learning tool includes a rule-based recommendation engine that provides useful contextual recommendations. We are hiring an ML Engineer to lead its evolution into an increasingly personalized, continuously improving system driven by real-time product behavior, content metadata, customer context, and experimentation. This is an applied product data science role. You will personally build, deploy, and operate recommendation models, design experiments, establish evaluation methodology, and define the scientific roadmap. You will partner closely with software engineers who own the production recommender codebase and with an existing Data Analyst who supports measurement, instrumentation, and analysis across Developer Advocacy. What You’ll Be Doing: The long-term vision is ambitious, but we do not expect it to arrive in one release. We are looking for someone who can understand the whole problem, establish strong foundations, and ship measurable improvements into the existing recommender one iteration at a time. Evolve the Interactive Learning Plugin's recommendation system Develop increasingly personalized approaches to candidate selection, ranking, sequencing, and next-best-action recommendations. You’ll own a real-time recommendation service Build and operate applied models Develop, validate, version, monitor, and iterate on models used by the recommendation system. You’ll own model training & serving Define what recommendation quality means Develop offline, online, and longitudinal measures of recommendation performance. You’ll own feature pipelines, monitoring of the model and architecture Ship incremental improvements Use the data and infrastructure available today while identifying the instrumentation and platform capabilities needed tomorrow. Integrate improvements into the existing recommender rather than waiting for a complete replacement system. Partner across disciplines Work closely with software engineers & data analysts to productionize models and integrate them safely into the recommender service. Partner with the Product Analytics team on metric definitions, instrumentation, data quality, dashboards, and experiment analysis. Collaborate with Developer Advocacy, Docs, Product, Engineering, GTM, and other teams to translate ambiguous needs into testable hypotheses and measurable product decisions. Explain modeling choices, tradeoffs, uncertainty, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. What Makes You a Great Fit: We know it is rare to find everything. Strong candidates should demonstrate credible ability across all three core areas below and be particularly strong in at least two. Recommendation and personalization science: you have built recommendation, ranking, search, matching, propensity, or next-best-action systems. You are comfortable beginning with simple, explainable approaches when they are the best way to learn. HTTP/gRPC, streaming, Go/TypeScript previous experience in distributed systems Applied model ownership. You have personally built, validated, monitored, and iterated on models used in a product or operational environment. You can work effectively in version-controlled codebases and collaborate with engineers on production implementation. You should also be a strong product thinker and technical communicator. You can take an ambitious and ambiguous objective, identify the most important unknowns, and create a sequence of models and experiments that steadily improves the product. Bonus Points For: Experience with content, education, onboarding, or learning recommendation systems Experience with SaaS product telemetry and customer-account data Experience using warehouse-scale behavioral data Experience with directed graphs, sequence models, or prerequisite-aware recommendations Experience with contextual bandits or other exploration strategies Familiarity with Grafana or the broader observability ecosystem Experience with open source software or transparent development practices Experience working with privacy, fairness, explainability, or responsible personalization constraints Compensation & Rewards: In Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $164,490 CAD - $197,389 CAD. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally. *Compensation ranges are country specific.
